The post is available at Band 6 – Band 7 progression, dependent on experience.

Ancora House comprises 26 beds across 2 wards, Indigo and Coral. It includes a Tier 4 CAMHS service, a specialist Eating Disorder Service (CHEDS), and Ancora CARE.

This role requires professional responsibility for developing the Occupational Therapy provision within the Tier 4 CAMHS service (Cheshire and Merseyside), ensuring it is needs-led, evidence-based, and aligned with current legislation, values, and service principles.

To work using high-level specialist expertise within multidisciplinary teams across Tier 4 CAMHS, managing a caseload of service users with complex mental health and learning disabilities, providing core occupational therapy interventions to help individuals achieve a valued lifestyle and optimal functional ability. This includes providing specialist training and advice to team members and partner agencies.

You will be professionally responsible for developing and leading the Occupational Therapy services in Tier 4 CAMHS, including supervising other staff regarding Occupational Therapy input.

Responsibilities include conducting occupational therapy assessments for a caseload addressing occupational performance, strengths, and deficits, enabling service users in self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will assess and manage risks and monitor mental and physical health status.

You will collaborate with service users to identify intervention goals as part of the overall care plan, applying a high understanding of disability effects, and providing training and lifestyle advice. You will plan and implement complex, evidence-based interventions in various settings, including hospitals, community, and homes.

Monitoring, evaluating, and modifying treatments to measure progress and ensure effectiveness are essential. You will actively manage risks to ensure safety while respecting service users' rights to positive risks to support recovery.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) provides health and care services for over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health, and all-age disability care, along with three GP surgeries in Cheshire. We employ around 4,500 staff across 73 sites, serving Wirral, Cheshire, Trafford, Warrington, Bolton, Halton, Liverpool, and the North West with specialist services.
