The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment when teaching staff are absent. You’ll deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged throughout the lesson.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher
2. Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teachers
3. Keeping pupils focused, motivated, and on task
4. Managing behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
5. Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate
6. Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement
7. Promoting a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment
8. Acting as a positive role model for young people

What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:
25. Experience working with young people
26. A degree in any subject is desired but not essential
27. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
28. Confidence leading groups and managing behaviour
29. A positive, proactive, and professional attitude
30. The ability to adapt quickly to different school settings
31. Experience in education, youth work, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar environments (desirable but not essential)
32. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
33. The right to work in the UK
