Core Responsibilities
* Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality, inclusive lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach A-Level English Literature or Language for the right candidate.
* Literacy Advocacy: Implementing targeted strategies to improve reading ages and writing fluency, ensuring that English serves as a gateway to success across all other subjects.
* Examination Preparation: Guiding Year 11 students through the rigours of GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA, Edexcel, or Eduqas), using data-driven interventions to maximise progress.
* Creative Pedagogy: Using a variety of teaching methods—from Socratic seminars and live modelling to digital storytelling—to engage students of all abilities, including those with EAL (English as an Additional Language).
* Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor, providing a supportive start to the day and monitoring the academic and social wellbeing of a specific group of students.
* Extracurricular Enrichment: Contributing to the wider life of the school through book clubs, debating societies, creative writing workshops, or theatre trips.
