Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11-18 Community College situated five miles from Exeter. The Role
Starting in November, we are looking to recruit a professional and motivated Science and Food Technician to join our highly successful Science and Technology teams. This role is being advertised as a Grade B position and would be ideal for someone who may be looking at a career in teaching and wants to gain first-hand experience of working in a school.
You will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and have excellent planning and organisational skills.
Principal Duties
For the Food Technician part of the role:
* Preparation of ingredients and equipment
* Placing food shops online and in person
* Overseeing food budget
* Maintain general tidiness and organisation of the food department
For the Science Technician part of the role:
* Providing assistance to Senior Science Technician and/or Technician
* Preparing resources and equipment
* Delivering and collecting equipment/resources from classrooms
* General admin tasks such as photocopying/printing/filing
Previous experience of working in a school and possession of a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous but are not essential as full training will be given.
Hours of Work
The role is split into two parts:
* Monday-Friday 17.5 hrs per week (08:00-11:30) (Food Technology Department)
* Monday-Thursday 18 hrs per week (11:30-16:30) (Science Department)
There is some flexibility around these hours and how they are split and this can be discussed at interview.
