We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing various administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the office, and providing exceptional customer service to clients. This position requires strong organisational abilities and analytical skills to assist in case preparation and documentation.
We are a growing law firm specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Probate. We set up in 2022 with the goal of making private client work simple, transparent, and accessible. We deliver high-quality, fixed-fee services with a national reach, supported by technology and a commitment to client care.
We are entering a new phase of growth and are seeking a proactive Legal Assistant to join our small but ambitious team. This is an opportunity to grow with us and take on increasing responsibility as the company develops.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support including:
* Printing, binding, posting, and storing Wills and LPAs
* Arranging the storage of original documents
* Collecting post from the Leeds office (roughly once a week and timing may vary with this)
* Processing payments
* Scanning post and other documents into our case management system, keeping records accurate and up to date
* Managing diaries, booking client meetings and sending Teams links and confirmations
* Assist with file management and progression, including:
* Opening new client files in our case management system
* Preparing documents and templates for solicitor review
* Tracking LPA signature sheets and following up with clients where required
* Dealing with file closure, which includes updating file records, sending out relevant letters, documents and storage information
* Ensure accurate and efficient document and case management in line with firm policies
* Demonstrate initiative in streamlining processes and supporting new projects (e.g. online wills & probate services)
* Deliver excellent client service and act as a first point of contact for client enquiries
Person Specification
* Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment preferred but not essential
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confident communicator (telephone, email, client-facing)
* Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn
* Comfortable with technology and case management systems (training will be provided)
* Team player who takes ownership of tasks and looks for ways to add value
* Comfortable working independently and taking initiative

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £19,536.00-£25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 32 per week
