We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse-Endoscopy who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post holder will participate as a member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team in providing high standards of evidence based care. They will provide care, support and advice for patients, relatives and carers undergoing Endoscopic procedures.
The registered nurse will work and communicate with the Endoscopy coordinator to organize the Endoscopy list on a daily basis, planning the session in a timely and efficient way and be able to efficiently take charge of a session in the Endoscopy unit. .
This role involves cross-site working between Lister Hospital in Stevenage and the QEII Hospital in Welwyn.
In this role the post holder will participate and manage the Emergency on-call cover service 24/7. Participate in the on call emergency rota out of hours. Bank Holidays and weekends are also supported with an On-call service 24/7.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will effectively manage the daily emergency bleed service
and develop the ability to prioritise work load in order to effectively manage the day to day running of an Endoscopy list.
Develop management skills and take charge of the unit if required.
Effectively manage ward resources including equipment and stores.
Be conversant with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the trust.
Understand the complaints procedure and appropriately respond to suggestions/ complaints by the service users.
The post holder will be able to support and supervise junior, or non-registered staff and students working in Endoscopy.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Nursing qualification on the NMC register
* Nursing degree qualification/ Apprenticeship or equivalent
* GCSE Grade A-C in Math’s & English or skills level 2 math’s & English or equivalent
* Commitment to lifelong learning
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience working in a MDT team
* Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
* Champion /link nurse responsibility
Desirable criteria
* Previous Endoscopy experience or involvement with Gastroenterology patients.
* Practice assessor qualification or equivalent.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Endoscopy / Gastroenterology knowledge
* Principles of Infection control and health and safety.
* Experience of audit in the clinical area.
Desirable criteria
* Awareness of health promotion.
