The School and Role
A forward-thinking mainstream primary school near the West Kirby area of, Wirral, is looking for a passionate and committed SEND Teacher to join its dedicated team in September. With a strong emphasis on inclusion and personalised learning, the school aims to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. As a one-form-entry school, it offers a close-knit community, a broad and creative curriculum, and a culture built on high expectations and mutual respect.
The successful candidate will help shape the school’s SEND provision by planning and delivering high-quality, tailored interventions across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. You will work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, collaborating closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external agencies to create individual learning plans that support measurable progress for every child.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Previous experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally across both KS1 and KS2.
A thorough understanding of a range of special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
