Are you ready for your next step in paediatric pharmacy? We’re looking for an experienced pharmacist to join our friendly paediatric pharmacy team at St Mary’s Hospital.

Who we’re looking for:
9. Good experience with hospital paediatric pharmacy.
10. Specialist experience in some areas (e.g. intensive care, bone marrow transplant, oncology, infectious disease) is desirable, but training will be provided.
11. Someone motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to learn.

Main duties of the job
12. Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care for children and young people.
13. Take part in guideline development and review.
14. Help manage drug spend and support cost-effective prescribing.
15. Provide training and teaching for pharmacists and the wider team.
16. Get involved in risk management, audit, and quality improvement.
17. Support new drug applications.
18. Provide clinical and specialist support to the outpatient pharmacy partnership.
19. Deputise for the Senior Lead Pharmacist when needed.

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
20. Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
21. Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
22. Diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy practice or equivalent
23. Undertakes continuing professional development (CPD) and maintains a CPD portfolio
Desirable criteria
24. Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) membership
25. Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG) membership
26. BOPA SACT passport accreditation
Experience
Essential criteria
27. Post-registration training and experience in hospital pharmacy including substantial experience in paediatric pharmacy.
28. Evidence of experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice (medicines information, ward services and dispensing)
29. Demonstrate the ability to appropriately recommend, assimilate and communicate complex therapeutic options for patients.
30. Demonstrable use of clinical audit and/or quality improvement to improve practice.
Desirable criteria
31. Previous experience in managing staff
32. Clinical risk management
33. Financial reporting and management of appropriate clinical medicines expenditure
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Essential criteria
34. Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and senior management.
35. Computer literacy to effectively use computer systems including Microsoft Office applications.
36. Ability to analyse and provide valuable insight from drug usage reports.
37. Able to work under pressure and make clinical decisions with limited information

38. Microsoft Office applications at an advanced level
39. Communicates best practice both inside and outside the organisation
40. Core clinical practice to equivalent of Faculty of Paediatric Pharmacists Advanced level 1/2 or RPS faculty Core Advanced Level practice
