As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands‑on experience while completing a Level 2 Autocare Technician Apprenticeship, with progression onto the level 3 motor vehicle technician standard. What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like? You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics. Examples of the units covered are: Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment Inspection of light vehicles Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults Supporting the maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles Learning how to carry out vehicle inspections and servicing Assisting with diagnostics and fault finding Working with experienced technicians in a modern workshop environment Following safe working practices, especially around EV systems Contributing to workplace good housekeeping Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety What can we offer you?
