Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Control Systems Engineer required to join a global manufacturer of industrial materials and components at their Leeds production facility.
The successful Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting plant maintenance, diagnostics, and improvement projects, with a focus on electrical systems, control panels, and automation. This is a hands‑on engineering role offering long‑term development in a high‑tech, process‑driven manufacturing environment.
You’ll have a broad background in electrical engineering with experience in control systems, 3‑phase power, VFDs, and PLC‑based systems. Knowledge of high‑temperature processes or heavy industry would be advantageous.
Package
* £43,000 depending on experience
* Based in Leeds
* Day shifts, Monday to Friday
* Call‑out rota (shared across the engineering team)
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve faults on manufacturing plant and equipment
* Assist with R&D projects to improve or re‑engineer production processes
* Contribute to continuous improvement and site development activities
* Perform hands‑on installation, assembly, and upgrade of electrical systems
* Support both electrical and basic mechanical maintenance tasks
Requirements
* Experience as an Electrical Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Controls Engineer or similar
* Strong understanding of control panels, PLCs, motors, VFDs, 3‑phase and single‑phase systems
* Apprentice trained with HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
* Strong analytical and fault‑finding ability
* Must be commutable to Leeds
