Vice President - Employee Relations

Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a strategic partnership with trade unions and employee representatives, fostering constructive dialogue and collaboration to align workforce needs with organisational goals.
* Provide business‑focused, pragmatic workplace practice solutions to improve productivity, lead the programme of standardisation, and create a diverse and inclusive workplace.
* Maintain awareness of good practice in employee and industrial relations, benchmark the best in the region, and align the company’s approach to exceed those standards.
* Provide specialist advice on complex change activities requiring collective engagement and liaise with legal representatives to minimise risk.
* Advise and support statutory consultation relationships that promote good employee relations and legal compliance.
* Work closely with senior leaders across the UK to forecast and address workforce requirements.
* Lead collective negotiations, consultations and dispute resolution activities as appropriate.
* Act as a specialist centre of employee‑relations excellence for all UK businesses.
Qualifications
* Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills with credibility across the organisation and externally with relevant bodies.
* Experience providing support on multiple change activities, understanding the impact of employee relations on broader HR and business change agendas, and operating with a pragmatic, commercial, and results‑oriented approach.
* Proven track record of operating on the front line of trade union relations, including successful negotiations and driving change within a unionised environment.
* Strong background in employment law.
* Pragmatic approach that prioritises the organisation’s best interests while operating independently and collaboratively within a global team.
* Up‑to‑date understanding of all elements of UK employee relations.
* Proven ability to hold difficult conversations and deliver sensitive messages to employees at all levels.
