GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Northumberland. This rewarding role offers a daily rate of £90–£115, depending on experience, and is ideal for someone dedicated to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist teachers in delivering tailored and engaging learning activities.
* Support pupils in regulating their emotions and behaviour effectively.
* Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence.
* Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
* Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to implement support strategies.
Job Requirements for an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
* Ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
