Job Description
Role: User Researcher Rate: £450 p/d (Via Umbrella) Location: Fully RemoteDuration: 1-6 months
We are looking for a User Researcher with strong Government Digital Service (GDS) experience to help design and improve user-centred digital services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure services meet user needs and comply with GDS standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a User Researcher within GDS or UK public sector projects
* Strong knowledge of the GDS Service Standard and service assessments
* Experience running usability testing, interviews, surveys, and workshops
* Ability to communicate insights clearly to varied audiences
* Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
* Plan and conduct user research across the service life cycle (discovery, Alpha, beta, live)
* Use a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
* Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights
* Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders
* Ensure research aligns with GDS Service Standard and best practice
* Support teams in making evidence-based, user-centred decisions
