Job summary This new substantive post is in view of growing demand for device implants, semi-retirement of one colleague and the in keeping with the aspiration to develop new services. We need someone who will work well within our existing team of PCI interventionists to enhance the existing service. You would be joining an enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will be part of a 1:17 week cardiology ward weekday on-call rota when normal activities are cancelled. Main duties of the job The post holder will support ward rounds and provide specialist opinions for outlying patients in the wider Trust. The post holder will undertake clinics, contribute to discussions at our multidisciplinary meetings, and ensure the medical optimization of patients. A complementary subspecialist interest would be welcomed but is not essential. An interest in complex Cardiac Devices would have a good fit with our current consultant body although we would welcome applicants with other subspecialist interests in addition to Heart Failure.The post holder will take part in cardiology ward cover including out-of-hours on call for general cardiology as part of the Consultant of The Week rota.
