This Sheffield-based role sits within a specialist family law team known for handling high-quality, privately funded work. You’ll be joining at a time of steady growth, with strong demand for complex matrimonial and children matters and a clear need for someone who can step in and contribute from day one.
In your first few months, you’ll support on a range of matters while building confidence in managing your own files. The expectation isn’t that you’re the finished article, but you’ll need solid foundations and the ability to get stuck in, contribute to discussions, and build relationships with clients early.
By 12 months, you’ll be running your own caseload more independently, getting involved in business development and starting to build your own profile in the market. The team places real value on lawyers who can engage with clients, grow relationships and contribute to the wider success of the practice.
Longer term, this is a role where you can genuinely accelerate your development. You’ll gain exposure to complex, high-value work and have the chance to carve out a specialism, with clear progression available as the Sheffield team continues to grow.

Who we’re looking for
4. NQ–5 PQE Family Solicitor with strong exposure to private family work
5. Trained at a reputable firm with good grounding in family law
6. Experience assisting on or handling divorce, finance or children matters
7. Commercial awareness and interest in business development
8. Confident communicator, able to build rapport with clients
9. Team player with a proactive, hands-on approach
10. Exposure to high-value or complex matters (Desired)
11. Interest in developing advocacy skills over time (Desired)

12. Supporting and progressing a caseload of private family matters
13. Assisting on complex divorce, financial remedy and children cases
14. Building relationships with clients and delivering high standards of client care
15. Getting involved in business development and networking activity
16. Working closely with senior lawyers on high-value cases
17. Developing your technical and commercial skillset
Salary & Benefits
18. £35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
