About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wet Works Engineer to join our commercial heating and building services team. This role involves the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of hydronic (water-based) heating systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial HVAC or mechanical building services, with hands‑on expertise in wet heating systems, including boilers, heat pumps, underfloor heating, and associated plant room equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, install, and commission water-based heating systems (boilers, pumps, radiators, fan coil units, underfloor heating).
* Carry out system calculations for flow rates, pipe sizing, and heat loads.
* Maintain and service existing hydronic heating systems to ensure optimal performance.
* Select and specify appropriate equipment and controls for system performance and energy efficiency.
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and Building Management System (BMS) engineers to ensure seamless integration.
* Diagnose and resolve system issues such as airlocks, flow imbalance, and temperature inconsistencies.
* Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in commercial heating or mechanical building services.
* Strong understanding of wet (hydronic) heating systems and components.
* Competence in system design, fault finding, and commissioning.
* Relevant plumbing or mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
* CSCS / JIB card or equivalent certification.
* Full UK driving licence.
