Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) - Special Needs School, Altrincham
Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in a child's life? We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism at a welcoming and supportive special needs school in Altrincham.
About the Role:You will work closely with a pupil with autism, supporting their learning, communication, and emotional development throughout the school day. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in helping a young person reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet the pupil's individual needs
* Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials where necessary
* Support the development of communication, social, and life skills
* Help manage behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs (preferred)
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
