Primary School Teaching Assistant - Hythe
Academics are currently seeking a number of experienced and driven Primary School Teaching Assistant's to work in local Primary, Infant and Junior Schools in Hythe and the surrounding areas.
We are recruiting for a number of Primary Schools in Hythe who are looking for Primary School Teaching Assistant's who are available to cover daily/short term supply and long term contracts. We also support schools with their permanent recruitment so if you are looking for a permanent Teaching Assistant position, we can support you with this.
The role of a TA involves enabling young people to develop and make progress by providing physical, emotional and nurturing support during their school day as well as supporting the Teacher in your classroom.
As a TA with Academics, you will ideally be available Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 3.30pm. Many of our client schools need consistency in the classroom, this is why full time is the ideal scenario.
This means you must have great communication skills in order to build relationships with both your students and the staff. The position involves working as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that makes the health, safety, care and welfare of young people a priority.
You will be expected to support the classroom and students as a whole as well as aid the teacher when necessary. In some cases you will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with children that are lower level learners or children that have challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
* Provide physical, emotional and nurturing support to students during the school day and assist the classroom teacher.
* Support the classroom and students as a whole and aid the teacher when necessary.
* Work on a 1:1 basis with children who are lower level learners or who have challenging behaviours when required.
* Collaborate with other staff to maintain a stable, happy and caring learning environment.
* Assist with safeguarding, health, safety and welfare of pupils as a priority.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong behaviour management, confidence, motivation and good organisation.
* Patience, commitment and empathy, with a genuine desire to help others.
* Experience in a classroom or educational setting is advantageous; candidates with other related experience will also be considered.
* Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students and staff.
* Availability Monday to Friday during school hours; full-time availability is preferred by client schools.
* DBS check: either a Child Workforce related DBS registered to the DBS Update Service or willingness to submit one.
