Position
The Vales are seeking to recruit a dynamic Mental Health Nurse to join their developing team in their 15‑bedded female high‑dependency locked rehabilitation inpatient unit at Discovery House.
About the Service
The Vales provides assessment and intervention for women with severe and enduring mental ill‑health in a locked environment to support their ongoing recovery and social integration. The service is focused on working towards independence and recovery to enable service users to regain health and mental wellness before moving on to live as independently as possible in an open environment or their local communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in liaison with the care team in the capacity of a mental health nurse.
* Provide nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting mental health, well‑being, self‑autonomy and independence.
* Work within a robust framework of regular professional supervision and a planned induction.
* Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and may be required to work in other areas of the rehab and forensic services when required.
* Provide care within a 24‑hour service including Inpatient, Crisis and SPA teams; unsociable hours and shift patterns may be required.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse in Mental Health or Learning Disability.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
* Experience in a locked environment or high‑dependency inpatient setting is desirable.
