STATUS: Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

LOCATION: The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time with the Energy Networks teams which are based in our Manchester and Glasgow offices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
* Department management fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
* Business development and client relationship management to:
* Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth
* Maintain a healthy pipeline of work for the department
* Foster continuing good relationships with our existing clients and understand their current and future needs
* Participate in industry forums and events
* Growing and developing the team, including:
* Mentoring and development of team members
* Recruitment and training to ensure the department has the resources and skills to deliver for our clients
* Giving guidance and advice in project management and technical delivery of the work.
* Strategic planning and development, including:
* Staying abreast of industry trends and developments
REQUIREMENTS
Essential requirements include:
* Proven track record in leading and managing technical teams
* Experience in business development and client facing activities
* Ability to engage with clients, forming long term and mutually beneficial relationships
* Significant experience working in the energy industry with a strong professional network and an established reputation.
* Prior experience of working in a consultancy environment or procuring those services as a client
* Commercial awareness of consultancy projects, including setting and adhering to project budgets, scrutiny and understanding of contractual obligations, and identification and mitigation of commercial risks

The transformation for the energy sector in the UK and around the world is one of the most exciting engineering challenges of our times. At TNEI we are at the centre of this transformation, advising and working with network companies, regulators, governments and developers.
The TNEI Group has expanded significantly over recent years, this is reflected in revenue, profitability, colleague numbers and, in addition to our UK presence, the establishment of offices in Ireland, USA, South Africa and India. TNEI’s Energy Networks team has played a significant role in the growth of the business, with specialist studies in network planning and design, data analysis, and the development of innovative planning tools and services. We will be continuing to expand and grow the team to keep pace with the growth in this sector.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time Energy Networks Director to lead this development and growth. Whilst the team have significant technical expertise, this role is suited to an experienced manager, with a significant appreciation of our sector and consultancy, who is keen to lead, develop and inspire a growing team of ambitious engineers and have a strong focus on customer engagement and business development.
