Are you a self-motivated manufacturing engineer with a passion for precision and innovation in aerospace? Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic team, driving excellence in advanced machining and process development.
About the Role
As a CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for generating CNC part programmes for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machine tools, developing new product processes, and identifying key process control requirements. You’ll play a pivotal role in improving manufacturing efficiency, collaborating with equipment vendors, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
 * Create CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred)
 * Develop tooling definitions, setup sheets, and production routings
 * Configure all supporting process elements including tooling, gauges, and test equipment
 * Analyse and optimise workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
 * Drive cost-effective manufacturing solutions while maintaining high quality
 * Support documentation and process control aligned with AS9100 standards
 * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver NPI projects
 * Research and implement emerging manufacturing technologies
Requirements
Experience & Skills
 * Proficient in CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred); SOLIDWORKS experience desirable
 * Strong understanding of CNC machining, cutting tool specification, and aerospace standards
 * Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
 * Experience in precision engineering and general machining (milling and turning)
 * Familiarity with AS9100 and quality management systems
 * Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
 * Proven ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
Qualifications
 * Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
 * Experience in a medium/large precision engineering environment, ideally aerospace
 * CAD/CAM software training or certification
