Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Caregiver, fluent in Tamil and English, to provide companionship and support to a 25-year-old service user. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care, dignity, and attention they deserve.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sense empathy, patience and ability to manage various caregiving tasks. The role involves helping the service user learn new skills and encouraging independence, while accompanying her to activities such as music classes, visits to the library, and walks in the local park. A caring nature, patience, and good communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
* Offering companionship and emotional support
* Assisting her in learning and developing new life skills
* Accompanying her to activities such as music classes, the library, and the local park
* Encouraging independence while ensuring safety and wellbeing
* A caring and supportive nature
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Reliability and patience
* Help with mobility and physical support, including moving and handling
* Manage behaviours effectively, particularly for clients with dementia or cognitive impairments
* Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
* Document care provided and report any changes in client condition
Requirements:
* Experienced caregiver with Moving and Handling certificate (essential)
* Fluent in Tamil and English
* Ability to commit to at least 6 months
* Ability to work weekends
* Living near Bexley (desirable)
* First aid certification (desirable)
* Ability to perform heavy lifting when required
* Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients and families
* Valid driving licence (preferred) but not essential
* Caring, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality care
Schedule
* 21 hours per week
