Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
We are working with an established engineering company in Hemel Hempstead who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in designing for manufacture and small precision industrial components.
Requirements
* Strong DFM (Design for Manufacture) experience.
* Background in industrial products, precision mechanical components, or similar engineered assemblies.
* Proficiency using Autodesk Inventor.
* Good understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, fabrication).
* Ability to produce high-quality 3D models, 2D detail drawings, and BOMs.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Role Responsibilities
* Designing and developing precision mechanical components and assemblies.
* Applying strong DFM principles to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and ready for manufacture.
* Creating 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
* Working closely with production, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Supporting prototype builds, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
