Goods In/Out Operative
Our Mission
We're dedicated to keeping our supply chain running smoothly so our customers always get what they need, when they need it. From the moment goods arrive at our doors, we treat them with care, accuracy, and efficiency — because every product we handle plays a part in delivering quality and trust to our customers.
The Impact You'll Make
As a Goods In/Out Operative, you'll be the first point of contact for all incoming stock and the last point of contact for orders picked for delivery out. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will ensure that every delivery is checked, recorded, and stored correctly — keeping our warehouse organised and our operations running like clockwork. Likewise, all orders leaving will be picked, packed and shipped with the highest attention to detail.
What You'll Do
* Receive, unload, and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
* Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, reporting any issues promptly to the supplier.
* Accurately record stock into our warehouse management system.
* Safely move goods to designated storage areas using pallet trucks or forklifts (training provided if needed).
* Pick and pack orders for our customers, advising of any shortages before they are delivered.
* Route the delivery vans and collate any courier orders to be sent.
* Work closely with the sales and purchasing teams to resolve delivery queries.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised goods-in area in line with health & safety standards.
What You'll Bring
* Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or goods-in role (preferred but not essential).
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
* Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
* Basic IT skills for using stock control systems.
* A forklift licence (desirable, but training can be provided).
* Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Why You'll Love It Here
* Competitive hourly rate with overtime opportunities.
* 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), increasing with service.
* Company pension scheme and staff discount programme.
* Full training and ongoing development opportunities.
* A supportive, friendly team environment where your contribution is valued.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
