We are looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join the team in Bracknell working 9:00-15:45 Term Time only, the salary is £19,300 pro rata, you will be working in a friendly team with many benefits.
You will promote and encourage the development of children’s skills and knowledge and assist the Nursery Manager in providing effective day to day supervision and occasional management of the nursery. You will work with groups of children or with a child on an individual basis to promote their development through reference to the Early Years Foundation Stage and ensure children are working towards their next steps of learning.
You will help to set up/pack away the nursery each day, which includes the moving of large furniture & heavy lifting, with due reference to your own health and safety and that of children, staff and visitors in the nursery. You will be a Key Person for an allocated small Group of Children, assessing their progress through observation and contributing to and maintaining their learning journey records, including conducting a Parent Consultation Meeting each term with the parents/carers of your allocated Key Person children.
You will promote a friendly and caring atmosphere within the nursery to ensure that children communicate appropriately and effectively with each other and interact with parents, including sharing information pertaining to their child’s progress, in an appropriate and confidential manner and carry out a home visit with another staff member prior to the child starting nursery, if required.
You will ensure the safety of the children, staff and visitors at all times and particularly having regard to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work regulations and display a commitment to the protection and Safeguarding of children, young people & vulnerable adults.
You will be attending in-house and externally organised training courses or workshops deemed to be beneficial for increasing your personal skills and knowledge and work with other members of the staff team to develop learning opportunities inside and outside the nursery building and participate in staff meetings to discuss, develop and implement ideas.
You will supervise the creation of the nursery Display Boards and ensure they are attractive at all times and regularly changed to display the work of children currently attending the nursery, photographs of activities and themed displays, all of which to be annotated with suitable simple words and/or phrases. You will oversee the observations and assessments carried out by Nursery Practitioners, giving guidance where necessary to ensure compatibility with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
