We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist Team. We welcome applications from experienced therapists with opportunities to develop from a Band 6 to Band 7.
As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will manage a caseload of complex cases, undertake independent assessments, and manage service users, incorporating pharmacological considerations where appropriate. You will make complex clinical decisions regarding service user management and clinical outcomes and contribute to strategic and clinical development.
This is a part-time post of 30 hours, working within the Older Person’s Mental Health wards at Alderney and St Ann's Hospital. Our service embraces flexible working to meet service needs. You will be based within the Adult Community Speech and Language Team, working on two older person mental health wards at Alderney Hospital and one at St Ann's Hospital.

Additional responsibilities include:
1. Providing supervision and education to the multidisciplinary team and SLTs within the Adult Community SLT service.
2. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services with a focus on integrated care, safety, privacy, and dignity.
3. Leading day-to-day clinical team activities and supporting continuous improvement in service user experience.
4. Ensuring the practice is evidence-based and up-to-date.
5. Contributing to service planning and design aligned with trust, locality, and government objectives.
6. Completing an Enhanced DBS check, covered by the Trust; applicants in the DBS update service may present a valid certificate.
7. This is a fixed-term role, primarily on secondment basis for NHS staff, requiring prior permission for release.
