General Cover Teacher

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time
Rate of Pay: £13.75 to £15 per hour

We are delighted to share that Teaching Personnel is partnering with a thriving and welcoming primary school that is seeking a confident, friendly, and passionate Teaching Assistant to provide general support across both KS1 and KS2.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Support KS1 and KS2 classes, providing additional assistance to pupils as required to help them fully engage with learning.
* Assist the classroom teacher with effective lesson delivery and behaviour management, helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
* Implement appropriate strategies to promote engagement, focus, and positive learning behaviours within the classroom.
* Encourage positive social interactions among pupils to support a cooperative, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere.
* Maintain strong communication by liaising effectively with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent support and smooth day‑to‑day operation.

What we are looking for:
* Previous experience working with children, or experience in a role with transferable skills that support learning and behaviour.
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel).
* A strong commitment to inclusivity, ensuring every pupil feels valued, supported, and safe.
* Patience, empathy, and confident behaviour‑management skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and maintain a calm learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
