Join Our Creative Team as a Skilled Fabricator/Welder!
Are you a master of multi-process welding? Can you effortlessly read and interpret complex CAD drawings? Do you have a solid understanding of material properties? If so, we want you to be part of our dynamic team at Scenic Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the magic of stage sets and props comes to life!
In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering innovative, high-quality, and sustainable stage scenery for productions across RSC stages. As a member of our theatre company, you’ll engage in a diverse range of creative fabrication work, supporting designers in bringing their artistic visions to reality.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Review technical drawings and execute tasks with precision.
* Measure, cut, and assemble set pieces using industrial machinery.
* Conduct regular tool safety checks to ensure a safe working environment.
* Load scenic components into venues and secure them on stage.
* Support team members in their development and upskilling.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
* MIG, TIG, and ARC welding skills and techniques.
* Experience in creating curved architectural scenery.
* Strong material knowledge of mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, and brass.
* The ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings, technical blueprints, and scale models.
* An understanding of workshop health and safety, including safe and sustainable working practices.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Scenic Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will work 44 hours per week, with occasional weekend and evening work required. During production weeks, hours become flexible and often include evenings and weekends.
