About the Role
Summary about the role
The Gateways Services is recovery focussed based on the principles of social inclusion. The services facilitates and enables people using the service to access existing community resources and services to re engage and develop their own community connections, build and sustain naturally occurring support networks and develop and improve and self-management and resilience skills.
You will be working with people on an individual or group basis. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a difference by facilitating support and approaches that enables people to achieve their own outcomes. You must be an effective communicator, highly motivated and have the ability to work with a level of autonomy.
What we are looking for
HNC Social Care/SVQ equivalent. Experience of working in a community engagement or health care setting.
Experience of working/supporting others in a recovery focused person centred way who can demonstrate that they are committed to building and rebuilding confidence and self-esteem in others, promoting social inclusion and encourage others to achieve their goals and aspirations.
The service is 9am-5pm, staff may be required to work out with these hours on occasions, and this would always be planned in advance.
Hybrid working you would be required to travel within Inverclyde meeting clients at various venues throughout the day.
The facilitator will manage their own case files, requiring to have good communication skills with the ability to plan and organise their day.
Basic computer skill would be desirable.
It is desirable you will have knowledge of mental health issues and an understanding of the barriers and challenges this may present for people to successfully engage and sustain activities in their community.
