Corrosion Resistant Products Ltd. (CRP) is a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of fluoropolymer lined piping, fittings, valves, sampling systems and other associated equipment. Annual sales are in the order of £10.7 million, with around half of the sales into export territories. The business is 33 years old. The company employs 70 people, with 29 directly in manufacturing.
The products are used for conveying hazardous and corrosive chemicals and CRP's customers are chemicals, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, gro-chemical and petrochemical manufacturers to name a few. Many of these are household names. CRP has a good product and service reputation and works hard to be close to the customer throughout the markets in which it works. Well known by the customer base in the UK the business is both growing and profitable.
The Role
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to meet customer demand, optimize workflow, and ensure the efficient use of resources. The role involves working closely with procurement, production, logistics, and quality control teams to maintain smooth operations and timely delivery of finished goods.
This role has been created in response to increased demand as our business continues to grow. The successful candidate will support the logistics team in reducing order throughput times, improving capacity visibility, and enabling more efficient planning across the business.
Key accountabilities:
· Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer orders and inventory targets.
· Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate delays or supply shortages.
· Collaborate with suppliers / procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
· Coordinate with manufacturing teams to manage capacity, resource allocation, and workload balancing.
· Analyse production data and forecasts to improve efficiency and optimise throughput.
· Generate and distribute production reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.
· Identify and mitigate risks to production timelines and quality.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
· Plan and maintain daily Supply Chain operations, such as materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management and order fulfilment.
· Help to review & maintain appropriate stock to meet wider OWC (Operating Working Capital) goals.
· Support and coordinate occasion projects.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or similar role in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
* Strong understanding of production planning processes, ERP systems, and inventory control.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and planning software
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
* Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
* Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
* Qualifications in Supply Chain Management / Planning or a related field (preferred).
