We are currently for an experienced Collections Driver to deliver and collect sample boxes to our valued customers in the south of England and within & around the city of London.
This is a permanent role working 32 hours a week, Monday to Friday 07:00 – 13:30. Working hours may vary some days, due to the nature of our customers’ requirements.
1. The driver will be reporting to the logistics team Leader at Sheffield, where we specialise in Endoscope washer water testing.
2. Make collections and deliveries of sample boxes to and from customers around the south, running out of our Feltham Laboratory.
3. The driver is responsible for the safe and appropriate handling of the customer’s samples to ensure they are stowed appropriately within the vehicle.
4. Respond positively to route changes that the company feels reasonable for the driver to complete.
5. Ensure collections are returned to site safely and securely, and in the correct location.
6. To communicate on a regular basis with your team leader making them aware of any delays
7. The vehicle is to be parked overnight at the normal place of work and any off-duty periods unless previously agreed otherwise with the management team.
8. Drivers are responsible for carrying out daily and weekly vehicle checks, oil, water etc and reporting any defects in a timely manner to the logistics manager.
9. Drivers are responsible for reporting accidents and breakdowns.
10. Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when unattended.
11. Promote the Eurofins image by wearing a clean, neat and tidy uniform as provided, and by ensuring your vehicle is maintained in a clean, tidy and serviceable condition.
12. Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
13. To partake in any developmental training as required in compliance with the Company Standard.
14. Drive Company vehicles in a safe and courteous fashion in accordance with the requirements of the Department of Transport and in compliance with the Highway Code.
15. Take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment, goods, fellow employees and other road users.
Qualifications
16. Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network
17. Appreciation of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
18. A customer focused approach with pleasant demeanour.
19. Effective communication skills.
20. A positive can do approach
21. Experience of chilled multi drop collection and deliveries, working to strict timed deadlines
22. Full UK Driving License
