Multi-Skilled Commercial Gas & Spraybooth Engineer | Sudbury
Position Details
Full Time – 45 hours per week | £37,000 - £49,000 per annum
Our client, established in 1968, offers supply, installation, service, and maintenance of spraybooths across various industries, including automotive, commercial, aerospace, and Ministry of Defence contracts throughout the UK. Celebrating 40 years in operation, their heating division specializes in commercial heating and ventilation systems, primarily in Essex and Suffolk. While current vacancies focus on the East Midlands, they are interested in strong engineers nationwide.
Key Requirements
* Hold a Commercial Gas Engineer qualification (Natural Gas & LPG, CDGA1, CIGA1, COCN1, CORT1, ICPN1)
* Possess a full UK Driving Licence
* Provide proof of right to work in the UK
* Minimum of 3 years relevant engineering experience
* Ability to diagnose, fault find, problem solve, and complete work on time
* Experience with a varied workload, including service, maintenance, and reactive work
* All-round skilled, time-served engineer with a proven track record
* Electrical qualification (e.g., IEE BS7671 18th Edition) and/or electrical maintenance experience (preferred)
* Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Willingness to work early starts, stay away from home, and undertake training
* Familiarity with RAMS, permits to work, and regulatory documentation
* Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality
Role Responsibilities
1. Attend sites for planned service and maintenance of spraybooths
2. Respond to reactive call-outs for diagnosis, repairs, refurbishments, and upgrades
3. Evaluate equipment condition and propose improvements
4. Engage with customers to identify additional needs and opportunities
5. Potentially attend commercial heating sites for planned or reactive work
