Role: Warehouse First Line Manager - Nights
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off
Hours: 19:30 - 06:00 (includes two 20-minute breaks)
Annual working days: 180
Salary: £35,046 per year, rising to £36,046 after 3 months, plus a benefits package worth up to £1,740 per year
First Call Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading UK brand as they launch a state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in Stowmarket—the largest warehouse built in over five years. This is a significant opportunity to be part of something truly exciting from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading a team of approximately 50 warehouse operatives
* Overseeing operations across inbound, stock put-away, picking, dispatch, and inventory
* Supporting continuous process improvement while prioritising Health & Safety
* Collaborating with Inventory, H&S, Planning, and HR teams
* Driving KPI achievement and managing shift efficiencies
* Standing in for the Shift Manager when required, including handovers
* Engaging and motivating staff through briefings and clear performance goals
* Contributing to the setup of new policies, SSOWs, SOPs, and local procedures
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience managing teams in warehouse, processing, or manufacturing environments
* Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) a plus
* Confident in MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
* A strong communicator and natural leader who thrives on team engagement
* Proactive approach to implementing structure and supporting operational excellence
