The Role As the School Caretaker, you will be the backbone of the school's daily operations. Your responsibilities will include: General Maintenance: Carrying out reactive repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting/decorating. Site Security: Managing the opening and closing of the school premises, including alarm setting and key-holding. Health & Safety: Conducting weekly fire alarm tests, water temperature checks (Legionella), and playground safety inspections. Porterage: Assisting with deliveries, moving furniture for assemblies, and ensuring the grounds are free of litter. The Candidate Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable, but we also welcome applications from those with a background in facilities management or the trades. Technical Skill: A good understanding of heating systems and general DIY is essential. Reliability: You must be dependable, as the school relies on you to ensure the site is open and safe every morning.
