With travel to Duchess of Kent Hospice RG30 2DX & South Oxfordshire Palliative Care Hub OX10 6SL

19 hours per week

About us

At the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West, we look after people living with life-limiting conditions and offer support for families too.

About the Role

To provide a physiotherapy service by assessing, implementing (by self or junior staff) and evaluating programmes of person-centred care as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To ensure continuity and consistency regarding service users physical management. To demonstrate clinical, technical and research skills through breadth and depth of knowledge.

-Responsible for assessment of service user needs in relation particularly to optimising independence and physical function, and symptom control

-Responsible to devise a formal plan for families and carers to provide physiotherapy interventions as part of overall care

-To promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service user experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service

user and their representatives

-To liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of physiotherapy


Main duties of the job

About you:

The successful applicants will have experience of working within a variety of settings. Palliative care experience is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will play an active role within our team. It's all about giving our patients the best possible quality of life. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs.

You will have:

-Diploma/BSc in Physiotherapy

-Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council

-Current registration with professional body (e.g. CSP)

-Evidence of Continued Professional Development
