Financial Analyst | Permanent | 60-70k | Mainly remote working
A dynamic and growing financial services business is looking for a detail-oriented FP&A Analyst with strong Excel and data analysis skills to join its expanding Commercial Finance team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in Excel, enjoys working with large data sets, and can deliver high-impact financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
As part of a collaborative finance team of 8–10 people, you’ll be instrumental in building and maintaining advanced Excel models, dashboards, and reports. You’ll work closely with business partners, financial control, and senior leadership to provide accurate, timely, and actionable data that drives performance and efficiency.
Advanced Financial Modelling: Build, enhance, and maintain complex Excel models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.
Design and implement dynamic Excel dashboards and reporting tools to streamline monthly reporting and improve data accessibility.
Data Analysis: Analyse large and complex financial data sets to identify trends, variances, and key business drivers.
Performance Reporting: Consolidate and deliver accurate Group-level and entity-level reports for executive teams, boards, and stakeholders.
Support the creation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring models are accurate, flexible, and data-driven.
Translate data into meaningful insights, highlighting key risks, opportunities, and recommendations for management.
Improve existing Excel processes, models, and templates for greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Partner with business units and finance colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment of financial data.
Embed strong data governance and controls across FP&A processes to ensure integrity and compliance
We’re looking for someone who is not just comfortable in Excel, but exceptional in it. Excel Expert: Highly proficient in Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, macros/VBA (a plus), and dashboard creation from scratch.
Data-Literate: Confident handling, transforming, and interpreting large financial data sets. Familiarity with database structures or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a bonus.
Analytically Strong: Able to draw insights from data and present them clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Professionally Qualified: Part-qualified or newly qualified (CA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with a strong academic background.
Commercially Aware: Understands the broader business context and the importance of financial data in decision-making.
Communicative: Comfortable presenting data, explaining assumptions, and working collaboratively across functions.
This is an ideal opportunity for a data-driven FP&A Analyst who wants to have real ownership over Excel-based tools, make improvements to financial processes, and help shape a high-performing finance function in a growing, acquisitive company.
