Job Description
This role is based at a mainstream secondary school in Hillingdon, starting September 2025. The working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 3:45 pm.
Objective: To contribute to enhancing academic success by fostering improved school attendance and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
* Utilize school systems for attendance support, intervention, safeguarding, and well-being, providing information, advice, and guidance to promote consistent and punctual attendance.
* Address poor punctuality by contacting parents or arranging meetings with parents/carers for persistent offenders.
* Assist the Attendance Officer with attendance registers and resolve discrepancies.
* Collaborate with the Deputy Headteacher to mentor students, focusing on attendance and personal growth.
* Support Heads of Year in addressing attendance challenges and developing strategies.
* Communicate with parents/carers and external agencies regarding attendance issues, including conducting home visits.
* Support initiatives to raise awareness about the importance of school attendance among staff, students, and parents.
* Work with the Deputy Headteacher and Attendance Officer to promote good attendance through rewards and recognition.
* Maintain records of consultations and prepare reports as needed.
