The Role: What Youll Do
As a crucial part of the Careers and World of Work team, you will provide a high:quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) service. Your day:to:day duties will include:
* Individualised Guidance: Conduct one:on:one careers guidance meetings with students and apprentices, creating detailed action plans to support their next steps.
* Programme Design and Delivery: Help design and deliver an effective careers education programme, including creating and presenting sessions on topics like CV writing, UCAS applications, and interview techniques.
* Information and Resource Management: Ensure that up:to:date and relevant information is available to students both in:person and online, and develop new resource materials.
* Event Support: Contribute to the design and organisation of careers events, and provide advice and guidance at key college events like open evenings and enrolment sessions.
* Record Keeping: Use college information systems to maintain accurate records of all student interactions and track their progress.
The Ideal Candidate: Who Were Looking For
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic individual with a thorough knowledge of education and career pathways. The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualifications: A good level of education, including GCSEs in English and Maths, with a Level 6 Qualification in Careers Guidance and Development being essential. A relevant teaching qualification is also desirable.
* Experience and Knowledge: Significant experience in providing high:quality, impartial CEIAG to young people and adults. You should have a thorough knowledge of post:16 and post:19 educational, training, and employment routes.
* Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds. You must be organised and capable of working independently.
* Commitment: A dedication to your own professional development and a willingness to participate in occasional out of hours college events.
* Flexibility: The ability to work across both the Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses as required.
