This role supports hospital social work staff in a fast‑paced and meaningful environment, ensuring efficient communication, coordination and administration that directly impacts patient discharge and wellbeing. You will engage with patients, families, and healthcare professionals across hospital sectors.
Duration, Location and Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent; Location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Queen Elizabeth University Hospital; Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 04:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide a high‑quality and comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Social Work Team, ensuring efficient support to patient care.
* Manage telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries from patients, relatives, carers and staff, prioritising and directing appropriately.
* Accurately log and process referrals, maintaining up‑to‑date records across Social Work systems.
* Maintain and update Social Work databases and electronic patient case files, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
* Extract, collate and summarise data to support the production of reports relating to delayed discharges.
* Prepare draft minutes of meetings and support communication across multidisciplinary teams.
* Coordinate information sharing with internal teams and external agencies to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
* HNC or SVQ III in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
* Advanced keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements within a healthcare setting.
