We’re looking for experienced Quality Engineers to support the delivery of high-quality, secure, and high-performing software products by implementing robust test automation, driving BDD adoption, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a cloud-based development environment.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring product quality aligns with business value across a federated value stream model. If you have a proven background in building and maintaining automation frameworks in Agile environments, this role could be perfect for you.
We value flexible working arrangements, so you can choose to work remotely or from our offices in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or Guernsey, with occasional office visits.
Core skills required:
* 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality engineering
* Proven track record of building and maintaining automation frameworks in agile environments
* Experience in Quality Engineering and test automation
* BDD Implementation
* CI/CD Integration
* Testing in cloud-native and microservices environments
* Performance testing & tooling
* Security testing & tooling
* End-to-End Testing Strategy (API, UI & backend)
* Test Management tools
* Test Data and Environment management
* Root Cause analysis & defect management
* Risk identification and management
* Problem-solving skills with a logical approach
* Experience working in cross-functional, federated teams delivering critical applications
* Exposure to cloud-native testing, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code is a plus
Responsibilities include:
* Designing and maintaining automated test suites for UI, API, and integration layers
* Applying BDD practices with tools like Cucumber
* Collaborating with developers and product owners to ensure comprehensive test coverage
* Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
* Executing performance and security tests using tools like JMeter, ZAP
* Supporting test environment setup and cloud testing
* Participating in defect analysis and process improvement
* Tracking and reporting testing metrics and risks
* Supporting incident management and out-of-hours releases
* Mentoring junior QA engineers and sharing best practices
Desired experience & knowledge:
* Proficiency with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium)
* Strong BDD experience with Cucumber and Gherkin
* API testing experience with Postman
* Performance testing with JMeter and security testing concepts
* Understanding of agile and DevOps principles
* CI/CD pipeline integration experience
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
* Strong debugging and analytical skills
* Effective communication within cross-functional teams
Skills:
* 5+ years in QA and QE

* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
* Certifications (e.g., ISTQB, AWS) preferred
