Deputy Director of Health, Wellbeing and Skills

The Governors of Porth Community School are seeking to appoint a driven, committed and innovative Deputy Director of Health, Wellbeing and Skills. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with our newly appointed Director of Health, Wellbeing and Skills to lead the faculty across phases in our all through school.

We welcome applications from inspirational, passionate practitioners who want to be a part of our school’s exciting journey. Porth Community School is a 3-16 school, established in 2018. Built on strong foundations, we now continue to develop in dynamic and innovative ways. Our school is an exciting and enjoyable place to work, fuelled by energy, positivity and aspiration. The school is located on one site, near the centre of Porth; just ten minutes from Pontypridd and the A470 in one direction or just 15 minutes from J34 of the M4 in the other direction, making it a convenient location for anyone based in South Wales.

As an all through school we are fully committed to ensuring all of our pupils are given the best possible life chances by ensuring they have access to a fully inclusive, high-quality education from age 3-16. Our mission statement ‘Aspire Together. Achieve Together’ reflects our culture of togetherness, where our whole school community operates collaboratively to realise our aspirational vision. Our team are unwaveringly supportive of each other and the leadership team empowers and develops staff to ensure all our young people reach their full potential.

Our school sits firmly at the heart of our local community, and we share and nurture our pupils’ proud community values. Our staff pride themselves on the strong working relationships they develop with our pupils and their families. These relationships underpin highly effective teaching and learning and a comprehensive programme of wellbeing support. Our curriculum has been designed to provide relevant and authentic learning experiences in collaboration with our primary cluster to ensure a seamless continuum of learning across progression steps. We carefully tailor our provision of learning and support for individual pupils to ensure they make strong progress.

We believe in the power of continual professional learning and demonstrate our commitment by investing our resources in a high-quality PL programme for every member of staff. We value the contributions of every member of our team and ensure our culture of challenge and support gives everyone the opportunity to feel successful in their role.

We are constantly striving for excellence in all areas of our work. We are looking for a developing leader who is committed to providing our pupils with high quality learning experiences, removing barriers to learning and maximising pupil progress. The successful candidate will have the support of a talented and committed team of professionals.

Porth Community School is an exciting place to work and learn. We welcome applications from practitioners who share our values and would thrive as part of our culture.
