Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor Location: Midlands Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 package Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction company working on a range of education sector projects in the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile developments, including new builds, refurbishments, and extensions within the education space. The role requires a candidate with a solid understanding of construction cost management and the ability to ensure projects are delivered within budget and time constraints. Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the commercial process, from pre-construction through to final account Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts Ensure accurate cost reporting and forecasting, ensuring projects are kept within budget Negotiate and procure subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and coordination Conduct risk analysis and value management to optimize project value Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders Ensure compliance with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies Resolve any contractual disputes promptly and efficiently Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to education projects Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and construction law Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Strong numerical and analytical skills Experience with cost management software and MS Office applications Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field Membership of RICS or equivalent professional body (desirable but not essential) What We Offer: Competitive salary package Opportunity to work on prestigious education projects Career development opportunities within a dynamic and supportive team If you're ready for an exciting new challenge and have the experience and skills required, we encourage you to apply for this role.
