Child Protection Lawyers (With opportunity for career progression)

Salary from £41,771 - £51,356 per annum (depending upon experience).

About The Role

Our lawyers play a vital role in improving outcomes for children. If you want that sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that your work has made a difference to someone else’s life for good, why not come and join our dedicated team? As you would expect, we believe that such dedication deserves an equal commitment from us. Those who join us are rewarded not only with genuine career progression opportunities but also a salary commensurate with knowledge and experience in child protection law and practice.

We work in a business-focused agile way, so that we are there when and where our clients need us. We also recognise that we all have career/life goals and run a flexible working scheme, including working from home to ensure you get the work/life balance you deserve.

About You

As a Lawyer you will have experience of child protection. You will work as part of the wider busy team within the children and families section but you will be in one of the pods and have a smaller team of lawyers, paralegals, senior legal assistants and legal assistants to support you.

You will need to have an ability to command the respect, trust and confidence of your clients and senior managers as well as the court.

Gloucestershire is a great place to live and work and when you combine it with generous leave and support to meet career aspirations, it becomes more attractive. Where appropriate, there is contribution towards relocation and, for the longer term, there is a pension which provides some great retirement benefits and life insurance.

About Us

* Flexible and agile working opportunities
* 25.5 days annual leave rising to 30.5 days after 5 years continuous service
* An option to purchase 10 days of additional leave per year (pro rata for part-time staff)
* Family friendly employer offering benefits to help support you and your family
* Career development and qualification opportunities
* Supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision
* Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
* Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone
* In-house Occupational Health service
* Employee discount scheme
* Cycle to Work scheme
* Gloucestershire Salary Sacrifice Green Car Scheme (T&Cs apply)
* Links to employee networks such as Prism (LGBT+) network and the Young Employees Network
