A client within the Public Sector is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to join their Business Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time temporary position, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or administrative environment. The Role The key purpose of the role is to provide efficient and accurate administrative support within the Business Services Team, ensuring high-quality service delivery through effective use of office systems and customer-focused communication. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Responding to correspondence, inputting and accessing computerised information, and maintaining accurate manual and digital records. Assisting in handling customer complaints in a professional and timely manner. Making and receiving calls, responding to telephone queries from internal and external customers, and taking appropriate action to resolve issues raised. Using a range of computer packages and office equipment (such as photocopiers and scanners) to support the work and deadlines of the directorate. Maintaining and updating computerised systems and spreadsheets for the service area as required. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: Experience using DRS, Console, NEC or similar housing management and planning systems. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in dealing directly with customers and members of the public. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records. The client is offering £15.66 per hour Umbrella (approx. £12.50 PAYE) Inside IR35. Hybrid working is available — with an expectation of two days in the office per week once established in the role.
