Job Title: Buyer Location: Stockport, Manchester Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to manage procurement activities across our clients operations in the Utilities sector. The successful candidate will source goods and services efficiently, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities: Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services to meet operational requirements. Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and operational teams to ensure availability of stock. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and company standards. Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Prepare reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and market trends. Support cross-functional teams in planning and forecasting procurement needs. Requirements: Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally within Utilities, Manufacturing, or Logistics sectors. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and supplier management. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines. Familiarity with procurement software and Microsoft Office.
