Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering Team at our food crumbing and coating production facility in Gainsborough. The successful candidates will perform PPM and reactive maintenance on assets to maximize plant availability and maintain production.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Shift Pattern - 4 on 4 off, days and nights.
What will I be doing?
* Complying with the health and safety policy and regulations.
* Support the Maintenance Manager and supervise technicians and contractors on shift.
* Carrying out risk assessments with the relevant people and put controls in place to minimize the risk to acceptable levels where reasonably practicable.
* Lock off any dangerous machinery immediately or repair and notify.
* Resolving breakdowns, carrying out PMs, and working on project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
* Actively seek to undertake PMs on offline machinery where time allows.
* Fully complete PM sheets with observations, jobs completed, and recommendations, then file with the Maintenance Planner, always looking for ways to improve PMs.
* Gather information from production personnel regarding machine faults to speed up fault-finding.
* Ensure engineering logs and computer systems are fully filled with relevant information including PM numbers, used parts, plant numbers, urgency of parts, at each shift's end.
* Conduct all external communications professionally, reflecting the company's profile.
What do I need to bring to the role?
To succeed, candidates should demonstrate the right behaviors, competencies, and a proven track record in similar roles. Ideally, candidates will have:
* HNC, City & Guilds, or a time-served apprenticeship with appropriate engineering qualifications.
* Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment; experience in other manufacturing sectors is also valuable.
* Electrically or mechanically biased, or multi-skilled.
* Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience is highly desirable.
* A flexible approach and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
* Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
