Paralegal – Court of Protection (x2)
Position Overview:
The firm’s highly successful Court of Protection department is seeking paralegals to join its growing team. This is a rare opportunity to join the leading Court of Protection team in Wales, which is ranked in Chambers & Partners 2024 Guide and was named Public Law Team of the Year at the Wales Legal Awards 2022.
Key Responsibilities:
To support the team’s fee earners with the management and progression of cases.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Have a strong interest in human rights law, mental capacity law, medical based law, welfare law, or a passion for helping people who are unable to advocate for themselves.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to be empathetic when working with vulnerable adults.
* Be organised and proactive to thrive in a busy department that works within a fast paced and high-pressured environment with organisational skills required in a team that works to tight court deadlines.
* Have excellent IT literacy and experience of legal case management systems.
* Be experienced in the general administrative duties associated with a litigation team e.g. speaking with new and potential clients, preparing court bundles, liaising with third parties (including the court and counsel) and supporting case progression.
Additional Information:
Vacancies are based in both the Cardiff and Swansea offices, with flexibility between offices as well as the possibility for hybrid work arrangements after the initial training period.
