Senior Pharmacy Assistant – Homecare Services
Salary Band 3
The Pharmacy department at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to support the Pharmacy Homecare Service.
You will work closely with the Pharmacy Homecare Team to provide high quality care and service to all patients.
Hours & Working Conditions
37.5hrs per week Monday to Friday. Required to work late night and weekends/bank holidays within the dispensary on rota performing the full range of activities within this area.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for the Pharmacy Homecare Team, dealing with routine queries and referring to the appropriate member(s) of the pharmacy team where appropriate.
* Assisting in the day‑to‑day smooth communication between the Pharmacy Homecare Team and other areas of the Pharmacy Department, the clinical areas and patients.
* Undertake administrative tasks to facilitate the efficient and timely running of the Pharmacy Homecare Service.
* Help to set up and maintain systems for accurate and efficient recording of home delivery prescriptions.
* Process Homecare invoices and highlight any discrepancies to the Pharmacy Homecare admin team lead.
* Manage and collate statistical data on Pharmacy Homecare Team activity.
* Support the Pharmacy Homecare Team at operational and governance meetings.
Qualifications
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Self‑motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Flexible and able to work well in an environment of change and transition.
* Good computer skills, able to work well under pressure.
* Willing to learn and take responsibility, working well within a diverse team consisting of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacists, and other Administrative staff.
* Understanding of role within the team, passing on queries to appropriate personnel when required.
* Ability to develop good working relationships with other departments across the Trust and independent Homecare Providers.
