The Global Marine Group is a leading independent provider of submarine cable solutions offering a broad range of services including consultancy, subsea cable engineering, installation and maintenance, covering the lifespan of a submarine cable system and delivered to customers worldwide.
Purpose (Learning Objectives):
As the Business Administrator Apprentice at Global Marine Group, you’ll be the heartbeat of our success by providing the business with excellent sales, project co-ordination, data collation and administration support, at an operational level, assist in process efficiencies wherever possible without compromising the required quality. Deliver sales and project support in-line with Global Marine procedures. Provide admin support to all areas of the UJ team including Sales Order Entry, Documentation Updates, Bill of Material changes, Project Co-ordination, and Purchasing. as required.
Key Deliverables during Apprenticeship:
* Assist the UJ team in both product and services sales to ensure the smooth running of the business unit.
* Assist by providing admin support to UJ team in Portsmouth. To cover work from the sales order entry/order confirmation through to despatch and invoicing.
* To support UJ team with purchasing of project and operational items or services.
* Assist the project management function with data collation, documentation updates and co-ordination to ensure the successful delivery of customer projects.
* Develop successful working relationships with internal and external customers from various functional areas, work with internal customers to maintain best procurement practise.
* Assist in the monitoring, management and generation of reports of the departments KPI’s.
* Ensure all work is properly organised and communicated within the department and across the business, involving key stakeholders as appropriate.
* Assist in the generation of project reviews to conform with procedure and ensure lessons learnt.
Required: Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative when required. Good working knowledge of all 'Microsoft' applications: particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint. Should be a good team player that is flexible and can function well under pressure. Gain an excellent understanding of computer software systems. Ability to deliver personal KPI targets. Gain an understanding of engineering projects and their deliverables. Ideal: Basic understanding of the sales and project co-ordination processes within an engineering environment at apprenticeship level. Ability to influence at all levels within the site organisation. Good negotiation skills Gain an understanding of the complete cycle of sales from order to delivery. Gain an understanding of Health & Safety. This role will be based 4 days working in our Portsmouth Office and 1 day remote. The salary we are offering will be as per Government guidelines for Apprentices.
