PTSG was founded in 2007 to fulfil an industry need for a single provider of multiple specialist services to the construction and FM sectors.
Since then, we’ve grown steadily, securing major new and renewed contracts that reinforce our role as a trusted, multi-service partner.
The Group, headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire, employs around 3,000 people in the UK and Europe. This staffing allows us to mobilise our experts to any site, regardless of location. Consequently, we serve more than 300,000 buildings for over 30,000 customers in a wide range of industry sectors.
Our multinational presence grew substantially with the acquisition of Flame Control in February 2024. Based in the municipality of Harderwijk, the company specialises in fire alarm systems, first aid, evacuation, extinguishing systems and extinguishing agents. Flame Control has a team of 40 specialists that work extensively across the Netherlands. Their specialists work seven days a week to improve fire safety in businesses and residential properties.
Recent national framework and specialist service agreements with Mitie, CBRE, Sodexo, Vinci, BNP Paribas Real Estate, ABM, ISS and others span a wide range of services:

2. Electrical and lightning protection testing

Assistant Accountant
This is a full time, permanent role, working 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. You will be based from our Castleford head office (WF10 5HW) which has access to free parking and great transport links.

About the role
It's a great time to join our central finance team here at PTSG.
Due to successful business growth we are looking for three Assistant Accountants to join our central finance team in Castleford. As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the central finance team and wider PTSG finance community and business by processing routine financial transactions.
This is a varied role that ensures robust accounting records are maintained by carrying out general accounting tasks, including posting of journals, periodic reconciliations, intercompany recharges and performing variance analysis. In turn, you will support the various finance teams to ensure timely and accurate period end close, as well as issuing allocated reports to the business.
The Assistant Accountant role will cover a number of PTSG subsidiaries. PTSG is a fast paced and high growth business, employing over 2,300 people and consisting of five separate divisions, each with a number of individual businesses. The central Financial Operations Team is responsible for the transactional processing for a number of these businesses, with there being a high volume of accounting transactions to process and reconcile.
What you’ll be doing
* Intercompany – regular processing of relevant intercompany and group management recharges, including reconciliations
* Posting of prepayments and accruals for direct/indirect costs
* Support on central costs and monthly accounts
* Support on payroll reconciliations (P&L and Balance sheet)
* Reconciliation and calculation of rebates
* Balance Sheet Reconciliations
* Provide ad-hoc financial information to both the group and divisional management teams including variance analysis
* Assist with the preparation and supply of information for audits and tax returns
* Monitor and assist finance manager with control of data relevant to key financial and non-financial metrics
* Support on completion of ONS returns
* Assist with Sage month end closure
What we’re looking for
* Good knowledge of basic accounting, demonstrable by on-the-job experience or graduate calibre who is part/fully AAT qualified
* Ability to analyse data with attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Ability to prioritise own workload and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
* Highly motivated with a ‘can do/hands on’ attitude with a professional manner
* Team player who takes ownership and accountability for tasks
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A team player who is good at building relationships
* System orientated with excellent IT skills, namely Sage Accounting and Access Dimensions/Access Financials
